ROMAE Opens in the West Village: An Italian-Argentine Grand Opening You Won't Want to Miss
There's a new table waiting for you in the West Village. After months of remodeling and recipe-testing, we are thrilled to announce that ROMAE — our new Italo-Argentine restaurant at 57 Seventh Avenue South — officially opens its doors on Friday, June 5th at 7:00 PM. If you've walked past the corner and wondered what was coming next, this is it: a kitchen where Italian tradition and Argentinian fire finally share the same plate, right here in Greenwich Village.

Consider this your personal invitation. Our grand opening night is about more than cutting a ribbon — it's about welcoming our West Village neighbors in the way we know best: with great food, great drinks, and even better company. To say thank you for joining us on night one, the first glass of champagne is on us, and we'll have complimentary bites coming out of the kitchen all evening. Where Italy Meets Argentina: The ROMAE Story
The name ROMAE — "of Rome" — is a nod to the deep, often overlooked bond between Italy and Argentina. For more than a century, millions of Italian families made Argentina their home, and they brought their pasta, their pizza, and their love of the table with them. The result is one of the most delicious cultural blends in the world: hand-made sorrentinos and gnocchi sitting comfortably beside a sizzling parrilla and house chimichurri. At ROMAE, that shared history is our entire menu. This isn't Italian food or Argentinian food — it's both, the way it's been eaten in Buenos Aires kitchens for generations.
A Menu Built on Pasta, Parrilla, and Everything In Between
Our menu is designed for the way the West Village likes to eat — whether you're settling in for a long date night or sharing plates with friends. From the Italian side, expect house-made pasta and classic comfort done right. From the Argentinian side, our wood-fired parrilla turns out steaks, empanadas, milanesa napolitana, and provoleta with a proper pour of Malbec to match. It's hearty, it's soulful, and it's meant to be shared.
♦ A Few Dishes We Can't Wait for You to Try
House-made pasta, Italian-Argentine style
Steaks fresh off the parrilla with chimichurri
Empanadas and milanesa napolitana
An Argentinian Malbec wine list to round it all out
